Your privacy.

Here is exactly what we keep, and what we will never do with it. If anything here worries you, write to us and ask. Questions? Email us anytime.

What we collect

  • Your name and your email address, so we can send you what you bought.
  • If you sign up for free guides or scam alerts, your email address (and first name, for the guides) so we can send them. Every scam alert has a link to stop them.
  • Your payment details go straight to our payment processor. We never see or store your card number.
  • Basic site information, like which pages get visited. It tells us what people find useful. It does not tell us who you are.

Ads and site statistics

We use the Meta Pixel (from the company that runs Facebook and Instagram) and Google Analytics. They use cookies to tell us which pages people visit, which of our ads brought them here, and when someone buys a guide or a call. Meta and Google may use this to show our ads to people who might find them helpful.

  • We don’t send them your name or your email address.
  • We never send them anything you type or upload into our free tools.
  • You can block these cookies in your browser’s settings, or turn off ad personalization in your Facebook and Google account settings. The site works the same either way.

What we never do

  • We never sell your information.
  • We never share your name, email, or what you bought with anyone who wants to market to you.
  • We will never ask you for a password. Not on a call, not in an email. If someone asks, it is not us.

The free tools

This covers “Is this a scam?”, “Stuck on a screen?” and “Want to try AI?”. Here is exactly what happens when you use one.

  • Your screenshot, your pasted message or your question is sent to Anthropic, the company that runs the AI we use, so it can write your answer. Anthropic does not use it to train their AI.
  • We do not save what you send, and we do not save the answer. Nothing you write is stored in our database, and we never write it into our records of what the site is doing.
  • You do not need an account, and we do not ask for your name or your email to use these tools.
  • So that nobody can flood the tools, we count how many times each visitor uses them in a day. To do that we turn your internet address into a scrambled code that cannot be turned back into an address, and we keep only that code and the count.
  • Like any website, our hosting company sees the ordinary details of the connection, such as your internet address and the time, for security.

Please still cover passwords, card numbers and account numbers before you upload a picture. It is a good habit with any website.

Getting your information deleted

Send an email to ask@askmeinstead.com and say you would like your information deleted. That is the whole process. There is no form to fill in, and we will not try to talk you out of it.
